Here is a sample of what you could do as a volunteer…

 

Trail Work

 

Be a part of a team that maintains a section of trail; brushing trees and shrubs.

Also repairing bridges and culverts and putting up fences and safety ribbons to control winter traffic

 Permits

 

Put up OFSC Prescribed Signage prior to Trial opening – usually in early December

Become a signage expert and help train others

Patrol Work

 

Check machines for Trail Permits, and if none, ask them to purchase one on the spot

Help sell advertising

 

Organize an Social (in or out of season), a BBQ, a Club ride or other event

Groomer & Equipment Maintenance

 

Organize and clean the Groomer Shop and yard

Arrange to have equipment repaired as the Safety Coordinator

Groomer Operators

 

Training is mandatory for this one!

Also help the operators with scheduling

Club Volunteer Executive Committee

 

Prepare the Club’s Annual Budget and keep track of finances

Prepare and send out meeting information and minutes

 

Training Courses are available for Chainsaws, Signage, Mechanics, Trail Patrol and Grooming
