WEEKLY WEDNESDAY RIDES:

Our ride last week, January 15, was a good one, even though the few days prior had thawing temperatures. The trails held quite well and we only had a couple of tricky crossings where ice over small streams had melted. Given recent snow and cold, those spots should be fine by now. We did an ‘around Lake Muskoka’ route, starting south of Bala at C114 and C101D toward Gravenhurst, stopping in Bracebridge for lunch. Mike, René, Janet, Bruce, Marylee, Bernie, and Marg enjoyed the snowmobiling. Unable to fit the ride into his day, Bob McT joined us for lunch and nodded appreciatively as we told him our morning trail stories. Travel time this year is a bit longer between Bracebridge and Port Carling, but the new trails make for a nice ride. Later in the day as we passed through Port Carling, we said our farewells and members of the group branched off to follow trails leading to their respective homes in Port Carling, Mactier and Bala.

Next ride, Wed Jan 22, we’ll head north of Bala for lunch at Memories, between Mactier and Parry Sound.

Please meet before 10am at intersection of Trails C114 (north of Bala) and C102D
